Let's do an exercise. Sit comfortably in your chair and close your eyes. Now, take a few deep breaths. In and out...in and out...and now...
Imagine it is many, many years in the future. You are walking into a party. Try to get really visual with this scene - it's the kind of party you really like. Is it inside or outside? Is there music? What does the food look like? Is it warm, cool? Are you near water or up on a hill? How many people are there, and how are they dressed?
Now, notice, in the middle of the party, radiating joy and vitality, is the host.
He/she is surrounded by people clamouring for attention. This person is of an
indeterminable age - could be 70, 80, 90? It doesn't seem to matter. This person is
beaming with youthful energy. And as you step closer, you realise you are looking
at yourself - and it's a birthday party! Your birthday party. You step even closer...and you ask...
